This Wednesday, come and dethrone Nice as the world record for the number of participants in cardiac massage in Toulon

This is a special event which will take place at the Palais des sports in tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. The Protacc association, chaired by Jean-Michel Bernardi, is organizing the attempt to break the world record for the number of participants in a cardiac massage. And each participant will leave with a self-training mannequin offered by the event partners. An unexpected (and free) opportunity to review lifesaving actions.

“Objective 1,850 Varois!”

All Toulon residents are welcome for this event which aims to raise awareness of first aid measures for people suffering from heart failure. The city of Toulon and the TPM metropolis support the event. “Last year, we brought together 1,200 people in Toulon. The city of brought together 1,812 visitors. This year, we hope to exceed 1,850 residents at our event”explains Alain Robert, project leader and first aid trainer.

“Everyone can come and participate: adults, teenagers and even children aged 10 and over. The idea is to give everyone the opportunity to learn or practice cardiac massage properly. Often, we know the gestures but we don’t repeat them, so we have to be aware of them for the day when it becomes essential.”

Massage on the Macarena

Mannequins will be placed on site for training. “A good cardiac massage should last one minute, including between 100 and 120 compressions. For this, we are going to play on the fun side by offering music on site. Some are very suitable for cardiac massage, like the Bee’s Stayin’ Alive Gees, which gives an ideal rhythm We can also mention the Macarena, which offers a very good tempo.adds Alain.

The entire morning of tomorrow will therefore be devoted to survival gestures. With a smile.
