According to the Pro Juventute study, which deals with stress and crisis management, media use and resilience among young people, girls are doing significantly worse than boys: 33% of them have already followed psychological or psychotherapeutic treatment, compared to 22% of men. “However, overall, the study reported good mental health among most young people and, pleasingly, relationships with their parents perceived as very positive,” confides Susanne Walitza, director of the psychiatry department for children and adolescents from Zurich and head of the research team.
