The Navétane de Mbacké championship continues peacefully with football matches organized daily. However, the neighboring town of Touba, attached to its tranquility and its sacred character, firmly maintains its prohibitions. Supporters of the “Rass” and “Ndamatou” teams paid the price during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. According to our colleagues from Dakaractu.
Returning after a match which saw the victory of “Rass” by 4 goals to 2, certain supporters, carried away by fervor or disappointment, crossed the territorial limits of Mbacké, defying the strict recommendations of the Caliph of Touba. This behavior led to rapid intervention by the Baay Faal. The latter, in sufficient numbers, arrested 134 people, immediately taken to the headquarters of “Baay faal-Nga”.
In addition to the supporters, several individuals in possession of Indian hemp, drugs or cigarettes were also arrested. One notable incident involved a Peugeot 406 driver, who, despite his attempts to escape the Baay Faal, allegedly dangerously jeopardized their safety by attempting to run them over.
Currently, negotiations are underway to obtain the release of the arrested supporters.
