They are every year nearly 150 runners – et several dozen walkers – to take the start of The Round of Wind Turbines. A very young event, of which this year will be the fourth edition, which saw the light of day in 2021 in a small village in Lauragais, under the leadership of its festival committee.
And this new edition of the trail and hike, organized this Sunday, December 15, 2024 by the Foyer de Roumens, could well break records in terms of participation. At the time of writing these lines, more than 240 athletes had in fact already registered for one or the other race. Latecomers have until this Saturday, December 14, 6 p.m., to make themselves known and get involved.
A 10 kilometer loop at the foot of the wind turbines
On the program for this fourth Round of Wind Turbines? A 10 kilometer loopaccompanied by a positive altitude difference of 200 m. A route which will lead trail runners and hikers (the departure of which is delayed by five minutes) at the foot of the Lauragais park wind turbinesstraddling the municipalities of Roumens, Montégut-Lauragais and Saint-Félix-Lauragais.
Departure will be given from the central square of Roumens at 10 a.m. for the trail and at 10:05 a.m. for the hike. Bibs can be collected on site from 9 a.m.
On the sidelines of the Christmas market
Note that after their effort, participants will be able to benefit from the Christmas market deployed since the day before in the heart of the village and find some comfort there with hot drinks and other tasty dishes. Aperitif concert, choir, dance demonstration and Christmas show are notably on the Sunday program.
