the essential
Voted “the most sporting college in Ariège”, the Sabarthès college is involved in biathlon, supported by the departmental council and local figures, to combine self-improvement and sporting values.
With a view to supporting a call for projects at the Sabarthès college, duly approved by the board of directors, Christine Téqui, president of the departmental council, accompanied by Pascal Allard, director of cultural affairs, participated in the presentation of the material intended for classes designated for the practice of biathlon, by Franck Burille, principal of the establishment.
Everyone is aware that the Sabarthès college was crowned “the most sporting college in Ariège” for the past year. It is with undisguised pride that, on November 8, the Ariège Olympic committee presented the cup awarded on this occasion, also welcoming the initiative of the trip of around thirty students from the sports sections to the Games. Paralympics in Paris last September.
Students discovering biathlon
Faced with such commitment and the successes achieved, a call for projects emerged to promote the practice of biathlon, a demanding and innovative discipline. It offers students the unique opportunity to discover this complete sport, while drawing inspiration from the values of surpassing themselves embodied by Martin Fourcade, six-time Olympic champion. Faithful to its commitment, the departmental council, responsible for the colleges, once again provided its support for its implementation.
During this morning's presentation, participants were able to try their hand at using the laser gun, handled with ease and success, notably by the mayor of Tarascon. The objectives are numerous: concentration, reactivity and agility, all assets which make the discipline attractive and fun for the students. We can bet that PE teachers will be able to organize themselves to benefit at least 25 students per class.
