What is the art of living in Finistère?
These are all these places, restaurants, cafes, lodges, hotels which beautify our daily lives, our weekends. Places where we feel good and which make us smile. It is also these artisans who create jewelry, clothing, cosmetics, etc. And, of course, it is this nature that surrounds us and which we can enjoy on foot, by bike, on a kayak or a surfboard… The people of Finistère know it and say it, we are well into the 29th and that is is notably thanks to all these people who create places and objects. Among them, we have met many who are embarking on a new life, who have left their old jobs to better enjoy the time they spend on this planet.
How did you come up with the idea of creating this magazine?
I think it would have been more complicated to launch Mon Finistère ten years ago. More difficult to find as many addresses of quality and originality as those we offer. But, in recent years, there has been a real explosion of creators and good addresses. This is true in the other Breton departments, moreover. The Bretagne Magazine team and our colleagues at Télégramme, who gave us a helping hand, are particularly well placed to spot all these new features. We've had this project in mind for a while and we're really happy to finally be able to share it all.
What can we find in Mon Finistère?
The magazine is 148 pages long. There you will find portraits and reports on restaurants, accommodation, artisans, creators and outdoor activities. We also worked with the Brest artist Pierre Malma, who is the author of the cover, but who also created illustrations inside the magazine. There are stories to discover, magnificent photos – including a series on dream homes – and lots of addresses to discover. We really wanted to make it a guide to the Finistère art of living.
Can you give us some of your favorites?
They all are! We can, however, cite Camille Prigent, the founder of Maison Rivages, the hotel-restaurant Roc'h ar Mor, the embroiderer Françoise Kerjose, the Breizhine biscuit factory, the writer-sailor Sandrine Pierrefeu…
Will there be a sequel to this first edition of Mon Finistère?
Given the enthusiasm we see even before the magazine is released, we are already thinking strongly about it, in Finistère and elsewhere!
