By the prefectural decree of October 17, the 558 registered voters of the commune of Gagnac-sur-Cère were summoned to complementary municipal partial elections, following the accepted resignation of deputies Denise Bargues, Francis Van Gasse and Maxime Dales, and on different dates municipal councilors Michel Galadie, Sébastien Lenière, Marie France Biret, Stéphane Buchet, Jacques Chapuis, Cédric Claret, Elodie Lys-Auillans, Ginette Montbertrand and Lucette Van Gasse.
Following these twelve resignations, the municipal assembly having to be completed, the inhabitants of Gagnac were convened on December 1 and 8 (in the event of a tie). But the first round of voting did not take place, due to a lack of candidates!
For the second round, five candidates presented themselves: Floriane Barreau Ben-Said, Samuel Ben-Said, Lilia Bonnet, Bertrand Gobert, Sarah Ricros-Ruiz. They are legally elected.
To be complete, the municipal council of Gagnac-sur-Cère must be composed of fifteen councilors and after this election, there are only eight municipal councilors. To date, the Lot prefecture has not yet communicated whether the municipality can operate in this way or whether the municipality is placed under state supervision.
Claire Delande, mayor of Gagnac-sur-Cère, sent each resident a letter in which she wrote: “It is with great responsibility and deep regret that I am addressing you today, following the resignation of some of the members of our municipal council This event follows a necessary decision that I had to take concerning the withdrawal of Ms. Bargues' deputy delegations for serious misconduct. light, and it aimed exclusively at preserve the proper functioning of our community within a rigorous framework that respects the rules. […] I would have liked a constructive dialogue to take place before reaching this situation, but unfortunately this was not possible. […] In a municipality like ours, transparency, respect for procedures and everyone's roles are essential. For the municipal council to be able to fulfill its functions effectively, it is essential that commissions, deputy meetings, municipal councils and internal debates take place while respecting the skills and responsibilities of each person. […] I want to assure you that my commitment to you and our municipality remains unchanged. During this period of transition, rest assured that I remain mobilized and I remain at your disposal to answer all your questions or concerns.”
