The members of the association Equi'Breuil des Staries du Breuil-Coiffaud, in Valdelaume, launched a kitty on an online platform to help one of their horses, Django. The 11 -year -old equine is suffering from cornage. It is a disease which, in its advanced phase, paralyzes the larynx and reduces its respiratory capacity to 80 %. But it can also cause cardiac arrest during effort.

According to Marie Magnan, the president of the association, it is possible to treat Django, but this represents a very high cost because it is necessary to operate it and the intervention can only be carried out in three veterinary establishments in . “After asking for quotes from specialists, we had to face the facts: this was going to generate costs that the association does not have the means to cope. This is why we decided to launch an online kitty, in order to bring together the funds corresponding to the amount of its care which amounts to several thousand euros ”.

“He can still have many years ahead of him”

“When Django was three years old, I went up, tells Joël Demprée, the founder of the stable. At the time, he won championships. Then he continued his career as a school horse. It is an animal with very high sensitivity and very intelligent. In our stable he is really loved by everyone. Knowing that he suffers at the slightest effort invites us to activate all the levers essential to his good recovery so that he can continue his life in the best conditions. Eleven years for a horse, it's still very young and he can still have long and beautiful years ahead of him. »»

A publication with the procedure to help equid was published on the Facebook page of the Breuil stables.
