Aigrefeuille hosts the 1st Charente Maritime Nordic Walking Championships!

After letting the Nordic walkers breathe for two weeks, the regional Nordic Walking Challenge was back this weekend in Aigrefeuille, where it was invited to open the cross country. A first for this cross which had not yet hosted Nordic walking. Immediate effect: around fifteen new competitive Nordic walkers, still novices, came to join the party. It must be said that the event supported the Charente Maritime departmental championships, that’s motivating!

But to get this title, we had to go quickly. Faster than Cyril (ALRA Surgères). Something that no one, except him, has managed to do. And yet, there was no idleness behind him, between Yvan Py (Stade Bordelais), came 2nd, and Sylvain Leroy (CA Villenave d'Ornon), came 3rd.

Eric Tortured (Athlé Bassin) finished at the foot of the podium, just ahead Bernard Saintemarie (Périgord Vert Athlé) who achieved a superb performance at the top of his master 6 category! Pascal Augier-Gautier (Grand Angoulême Athlé) crossed the finish line in 6th position, just ahead Nathalie Juste (CHU): incredible 7th overall, and easy winner among the women! Ethel Drappeau (Grand Angoulême Athlé) takes second place in this women's ranking, ahead of her club mate Nathalie Talmat.

Detailed results

On the Challenge side, Cyril Chollet makes up part of his deficit but remains 3rd in the provisional ranking, behind Sylvain Leroy and Ivan Py. But watch out for the return of maritime which remains with two good performances. Unsurprisingly, Nathalie Juste is in the lead among the girls with almost 100 points ahead of Ethel Drappeau, and a little more even over Nathalie Talmat. Or the same podium as this weekend.
