We know about dog poop on the sidewalks. On the terrace of a bar or restaurant, a little less! However, this is what happened, on many occasions, to the owner of a pub in Saint-André-des-Eaux, near Saint-Nazaire. Exasperated, he ended up writing to the owner on a large sign left on his terrace and broadcast on social networks. This is called showing off.
“The droppings on the terrace were every day”
Anne and Alexandre have taken over this bar a stone's throw from the town hall in May last year: pizzeria, brasserie, counter and English-style banquettes, they have thought of everything. Or almost: “dog droppings on the terrace were every day”says the boss. “We also have a dog, we know what it is. But we pick up. Especially since in Saint-André, there are plastic bag dispensers everywhere, so it's really bad will.”
The crime scene? On the grass terrace, just in front of the establishment. “I understand, for the dog, it's quite comfortable“, recognizes Alexandre, convinced that it is still the same dog. “It’s a little thing that must weigh five or six kilos, given the size of the package. It’s not a big dog”.
“I present to you my little camera”
Not seen, not caught. The owner of the doggie does it again and againthen Alexandre takes a chalk and a sign to leave him a little note: “you who, every morning, let your little dog leave a package on the restaurant terrace, look up, I present to you my little camera. PS: the fine is 450 euros. Your dog's poop is around 50 grams, or 9,000 euros per kilo”. And the result didn't take long: no more poop in recent days.
On the other hand, the sign remains clearly visible. You never know.
