Contrary to some preconceived ideas, rural territory et entrepreneurial dynamism are far from incompatible.
THE initiatives pour bringing commerce and crafts to life don't miss out, you just have to put your foot down young project leaders pour develop the economic fabric.
Four local communities mobilized
This is what the West Coast Center Manche community of communes has understood for a long time, and its political will to help local actors finds an echo in the work of the association “Centre Channel Initiative”.
ICM has in fact built its network in four communities in the department: Saint-Lô Agglo, Coutances Mer et Bocage, Baie du Cotentin, and of course Côte Ouest Center Manche.
Its mission can be summarized as follows: participate in economic development by contributing to the success of business creators or buyers, through support, financing, and the granting of zero interest loans. On this last point, the CCCOCM, when ICM gets involved, has gotten into the habit of doubling down.
A check for 6,000 euros
It is from this system that Jonathan Ségouin was able to benefit, who takes over in the center of Périers the “ Heritage butcher shop“, which he wanted to name thus in tribute to his father also a butcher, who transmitted to him both his know-how et his love of the profession.
And check for €6,000 was solemnly handed over to him, jointly by the president of the Henri Lemoigne community and by Bernard Ferrand, sponsor of Initiative Center Manche, in the presence of elected officials (Jean-Marie Poulain, vice-president in charge of economic development, Marc Fedini, deputy mayor of Périers) but also other economic players (Guy Durchon, ICM, Anthony Behelle and Olivier Lemière, from the Crédit Agricole agency of Périers).
The essential role of banks
Bernard Ferrand thanks the CCCOCM for its commitment alongside ICM for the development of commerce and crafts in the territory, and underlines the wealth of economic activity in the Center Manche. He also thanks Crédit Agricole, and emphasizes the essential role of support from banks with project leaders.
Henri Lemoigne says he is happy to find partners who are the ICM sponsors on this occasion as on so many others. He recalls that the “NOTRe” law grants communities of municipalities skills in terms of economic development, and expresses its attachment to maintaining local businessesin this rural area.
Not just money
Indeed, even in the absence of great metropolis it is important that the inhabitants can find on site the diversity of shops and serviceswhat they need. He specifies that the assistance provided by the CCCOCM, beyond the sole financial aspect, is also in its advisory and intermediary role .
Jonathan Ségouin, accompanied by his employee Dylan Saint-Lô, thanks the community of municipalities and Initiative Center Manche for the help provided. He specifies that he also benefited from a prime of €8,000 of the Normandy Regional Council as part of the “Start Coup de Pouce” scheme.
He underlines how important this installation assistance is for a young person without great financial means at the start, and also thanks the bank (in this case Crédit Agricole) for its understanding and the trust it has placed in him.
Many actors to mobilize
It is Jean-Marie Poulain who has the final word. He explains that everyone has a role to play in l’informationand support for young artisans and traders: community of communes, certainly, but also city hallChamber of Trades, bank, etc., whatever the sector of activity .
He adds that the CCCOCM remains attentiveneedscompanies, in particular by regularly organizing “breakfasts” on themes based on demand in the field.
