The Briey judicial court (Meurthe-et-Moselle) sentenced a 39-year-old man to two years in prison, with continued detention, after drugs were found in his vehicle parked in the Auchan parking lot in Mont-Saint-Martin, Wednesday December 4.
That day, the thirty-year-old from Libya was arrested by the police in a car full of heroin and cocaine, report our colleagues from Republican Lorraine. Officials found in his vehicle, among other things, 22 sachets of drugs, a precision scale, mobile phones, a knife, false papers as well as more than 1,000 euros in cash.
The individual, who had been subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) for two years, had already been convicted in the past for possession, transport, offer or sale of narcotics. Expelled from Luxembourg then from France, he was recently hosted by a friend in the Grand Duchy.
In court, the man denied the facts, explaining that he had simply come to do some shopping at Auchan. When asked about the presence of a knife in his belongings, he replied that he needed it to “cut a tangerine”.
