They remain angry and are determined to make it heard. At the call of the FDSEA and Young Farmers unions, several convoys of tractors will leave from different points of the Côte-d'Or this Wednesday, December 11 to meet mid-morning in Dijon. The processions will leave from Mirebeau-sur-Bèze, Fontaine Française, Pouilly-en-Auxois, Sombernon, Chatillon-sur-Seine, Is-sur-Tille, Genlis, Auxonne, Seurre and Saint Jean-de-Losne.
We are expecting 200 tractors. Everyone will converge at 10:30 a.m. on avenue de Langres where there will be other demonstrators on foot. All will surrender then at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Côte-d'Or Prefecture, in the city center.
“It is a demonstration to explain to the Prefect, representative of the State, that we can no longer wait, for him to remind the President of the Republic that Mercosur must not be ratified, to ask the deputies for explanations on the vote of censure and that ALL agricultural measures be re-inscribed in the “special law” and voted on as soon as possible” write the unions in a press release.
“A show of force to show the anger of the agricultural world”
“There is nothing moving forward, that is why many want us to demonstrate this Wednesday” underlines Anthoine Duthu, the president of JA21. “We want to challenge those who voted for censorship and have them give us explanations on the future of the agricultural world.”
“We also want to challenge the State, that’s why we are going to the Prefecture. Things need to move forward. There is a real urgency to support our farms.”
“We have always said that we demonstrate with respect for property and people. We want it to go well, we will not go into clashes. On the other hand, we want to make a certain show of force to show the anger of the agricultural world .”
