An incredible confusion which sowed panic in a high school in Alès. It was almost 8 a.m. this Monday, December 9 when an employee of the establishment saw a man passing through the gates of the high school.

A stranger walking around armed, gun in his belt, she said. Immediately, the alert is given. Students and staff are ordered to self-isolate wherever they can. All around the high school, the police arrive and patrol the entrances.

Students who were very scared

The Nîmes intervention section is even filmed, heavily armed, crossing the playground. In the classrooms, rumors are rife: is this an attack? A hostage situation?

For several minutes, the manhunt continued in the corridors. Before the suspect was recognized and identified two hours later: he was in fact the new Principal Education Advisor, who arrived at the establishment less than three weeks ago.

The CPE had simply not been recognized by this employee who raised the alarm. He was also not armed: the object hanging from his belt was not a pistol, but a simple cell phone.

However, many students were very scared. So, in order to be able to talk about it, the afternoon classes were trivialized to allow everyone to discuss this incredible misunderstanding which froze this high school for an entire morning.
