In the holy city of Touba, a sordid affair was recently brought to light, shaking the community and sparking a wave of indignation. According to the daily L’Observateur, a young 24-year-old tailor, Aliou Badara Ba, was arrested for having orchestrated a network of blackmail and sexual abuse involving minors and adult women.

Since December 2024, the inhabitants of Touba have been living in shock at the revelations concerning the heinous acts perpetrated by Aliou Badara Ba. For two years, this man abused boys aged 10 to 14, filming them in compromising situations and then forcing them to perform sexual acts with older women, all while recording these scenes with his cell phone.

The daily L’Observateur reports that the arrest of Aliou Badara Ba was greeted by cries of relief from the mothers of the victims, who invaded the gendarmerie of the Touba research brigade. These women, whose children were transformed into sexual objects, have finally seen the end of a nightmare that lasted far too long.

The affair broke out when O. Ndiouck, a 14-year-old apprentice driver, found the courage to confide in his mother about the abuse he was experiencing. Since 2022, Aliou Badara Ba has forced him to pay a daily sum of 3,150 FCFA under the threat of publishing compromising images on social networks. This poignant testimony prompted the teenager’s mother to file a complaint, triggering an investigation which led to the tailor’s arrest.

During his arrest, law enforcement seized a phone containing numerous obscene videos, confirming the accusations against him. Aliou Badara Ba admitted the facts, also involving an accomplice, DH, currently wanted by the police.

The revelations of this affair shed light on a complex network of blackmail and sexual exploitation, affecting numerous victims, some of whom were displaced by their parents to escape the clutches of their tormentor. Aliou Badara Ba was referred to the Diourbel public prosecutor’s office, while the Touba community is trying to rebuild itself after this scandal.

This case raises crucial questions about the protection of children and the need to strengthen measures to prevent and punish such crimes. Local authorities are now under pressure to keep young people safe and restore trust within the community.
