Tyler, the Creator

Gwendoline
This is the group that is shaking up French indie rock at the moment. It's called Gwendoline, a duo (which mutates to four live) from Brest made up of Pierre and Mickaël, which was released in March It's mineat Born Bad, the queen team of French rock. Their little extra something? Beyond sounds reminiscent of the entire spectrum of music suffixed in -wave (new, cold or schlagwave according to them), their texts (in French) challenge. In laments proclaimed like hymns, they unfold a sort of catalog of the vicissitudes of the contemporary world, between the cult of growth, tourism and violence of all kinds. A very disturbing panorama of hell because it is detailed in a crude manner, without perspective, position or claim. In concert, it is a real war machine, between unifying choir and cynical visuals.
When ? January 23, 2025.
Or ? La Cigale, 120 boulevard de Rochechouart, Paris 18e
