Classes were interrupted this Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Morvan Lebesque college in Mordelles, west of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), for a bomb threat. A 15-year-old middle school student came to class with “a piece of metal that may resemble a shell or ammunition, caught in rust”explains the Rennes gendarmerie company, present on site.

“All students are safe”
The young boy explained that he found this object “this weekend on a beach in Normandy”. 550 students as well as around forty teaching staff were gathered in the Beauséjour gymnasium, near the college.
Nantes deminers have been notified and should be on site around noon this Monday. According to them, “there is little risk that the device will explode”. The college management says it has notified the gendarmerie “as a precaution”and specifies that “All students are safe.” The reopening of the establishment was decided by the Nantes deminers. Students are expected to return to class this afternoon.
