In constant progress since his move from the giant to the speed disciplines in 2021, Justin Murisier showed during the first descent of the season that he could indeed race with the best. And in what way! The Valaisan quite simply won his first career victory at Beaver Creek, beating Marco Odermatt by 0.20 for a Swiss double. On the circuit since 2010, with only one podium finish – third at the giant Alta Badia in 2020 -, Justin Murisier demonstrated that he will have to be counted on this season.
The next day, the Valaisan unfortunately marked time by only finishing 17th in the super-G. He nevertheless provided elements of response to this poor performance, evoking the influence of the numerous trips off the track before his passage and the emotions of the day before which were still very strong.
