After “tearing down a sign from the demonstrators”, he allegedly “drew a pistol from his belt”. The police were immediately notified and disarmed the individual, who was taken into custody.

In the wake of this incident, many voices were raised, insisting that “ Palestinian rights defenders must be protected ».

“For weeks, slander and threats have multiplied against those who mobilize for peace and respect for international law,” denounced the Palestine Solidarity association in a press release signed by several other associations. Investigations are underway, in particular the exploitation of video surveillance images and videos filmed on site, informs the Paris prosecutor's office. Therepenalty incurred with regard to the most severely punished qualification, namely violence with the use or threat of a weapon not resulting in incapacity, if this was retained at the end of the sixty-year-old's custody, is three years' imprisonment in addition to a 45,000 euro fine.
