It obviously snowed less here than in the Northern Alps, but the 10 cm that fell yesterday did a lot of good. And as a bonus we had some sun ????
The powder was very light. Not enough to fill your nostrils, but super soft under the skis and perfect for my giant skis of the day. There were a few places where it was finely crusted on the surface and where you could feel a little of the relief underneath (basically all the tracks served by the TS Prarial, officially closed but which pass well if you watch out for a few stones on the entrances to the wall). But it wasn't very annoying.
Out of all the Gondrans reds (they are also closed but where nothing is scraped, there is only grass), it was a delight. Not too many virgin spaces to trace, but super soft snow and groomed by the passages, not a patch of ice.
We also found a little powder in the off-piste areas of Aigle, tacking a little and being careful to watch out for sharks at the entrance to the slope.
On the open slopes, with the people, the ice patches came out quickly. It would still need at least 20-30 cm of fresh air to keep it very good, even with people.
But very good day in the end, it's worth 3.5.
