According to the Gambian newspaper “The Standard”, Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko is expected in Banjul on December 19, to take part in the second edition of the Economic, Commercial and Investment Forum between Senegal and the Gambia, as well as at the Gambia-Senegal Cultural Night.
Sharing knowledge and best practices
The Forum, scheduled to take place over two days (December 19-20, 2024), at the Dawda Jawara International Convention Center in Banjul, aims to strengthen ties between the two neighboring countries and promote trade, investment, improving in addition, the ECOWAS Protocol on trade, free movement of people, goods and services in the sub-region.
It also facilitates the sharing of knowledge and best practices between the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA) and the Senegal Investment Promotion Agency (APIX).
The first Forum took place in Dakar in October 2023
During this major meeting, under the theme: “Harmonization of a friendlier business environment”, there will be round tables and a cultural gala dinner, after the closing ceremony on December 20.
Remember that the first Forum took place in Dakar, Senegal last October. If the participation of the Senegalese Prime Minister is confirmed, it will then be his first official visit to The Gambia. President Diomaye Faye has already visited Banjul twice.
