The artists and musicians took over Notre-Dame Cathedral for a concert, recorded on Friday and broadcast on France 2 on Saturday evening, at the end of the reopening ceremony. Big names include singer and creator Pharrell Williams and French actress Marion Cotillard. Classical music was in the spotlight with the Venezuelan maestro Gustavo Dudamel, the Chinese pianist Lang Lang, the South African soprano Pretty Yende with her interpretation of “Amazing Grace“, and the Franco-Swiss tenor Benjamin Bernheim who performed “Hail Mary“. For a more pop and contemporary touch, we waited for the French Clara Luciani et Vianneythe Canadian Garou for a medley of the musical “Notre-Dame de Paris”, and the Franco-Beninese Angelique Kidjo.
