The Christmas market organized by IPHM volunteers ticked all the boxes. Flea market gifts, local and artisanal products, art and delicacies… On three floors of the old restored building, the watchword is authenticity, magic and reasoned consumption.
We no longer know where to turn from the old Sainte-Marie school. The dispatch of around fifty exhibitors within the building, illuminated everywhere, gives this first IPHM Christmas market the air of an enchanted and timeless wandering. Gifts galore, offered by passionate creators and manufacturers, the flea market has put on its beautiful ribbons and the homemade pastries prepared by the volunteers immediately evoke the scents of childhood.
To finance the renovation work, hand-made Christmas decorations and gift baskets from the flea market are also on offer. The exhibitors present compete in creativity and know-how. For some, or rather some, it is a first meeting with the public. Amanda and Marie came to present their creations and take the plunge.
Consume responsibly for Christmas
The first offers its silver photos, developed the old-fashioned way and framed with recycled materials: “These photos were not intended to leave my room. We’ll see.” Marie, for her part, restores old, antique furniture and brings up to date furniture, not without a certain baroque touch. “I experiment, I test,” she confides. And it works, the design of another time finds pep's.
-Without claiming to be so, this Christmas market is a model of virtue: artisanal, local and second-hand. Or how to treat yourself intelligently for the hundreds of visitors present from the opening on Saturday December 7th. The pastries are preservative-free and full of love, just like the organizers. Free entry this Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and December 14 and 15 at the same times. Carriage rides, departure every thirty minutes. Haut-Marnais Heritage Institute, 19 rue Girardon.
