The CCAS and the municipal police of Granville and Donville-les-Bains, in Manche, are joining forces with departmental social services and associations to deploy a winter plan.
The South Channel experienced a first episode of snow, last Thursday, November 21 and 22. The Normandy Region had suspended its transport lines, in four out of five departments
Emergency reception for homeless people
The winter plan describes the emergency reception arrangements for homeless people in the municipality, in the event of extreme cold or a weather alert predicting temperatures below -5°C.
Three emergency accommodation places are available all year round, currently occupied.
In extreme cold, the emergency reception for homeless people in the municipality is open 24 hours a day. To benefit from it or help someone benefit from it, you must dial 115, contact the CCAS of Granville or call the police station. Maraudes will be put in place.

Help for the poorly housed
La Manche has 93 places, including 13 in the South Channel. In the event of a lack of space in Granville, the City will mobilize additional spaces, and applicants can be accommodated in Saint-Lô, or even Cherbourg.
“We can take care of part of the transport to other accommodation in the department,” underlines those responsible for the CCAS, who have state funding (€19,700) which covers around half of the annual costs.
Departmental social services and charitable associations will be particularly vigilant with people who have poorly insulated housing, poor health and/or who do not have suitable heating.
For people refusing any help or accommodation, they should alert SAMU 15 so that the doctor can assess the person's medical situation. The latter will assess the need to have the person hospitalized (with or without consent).
CCAS Granville: 02 33 91 23 30.
