REPORTAGE – Acclaimed as heroes, those who worked to rebuild the building did not need words to express their pride in front of the thirty heads of state and government, including Emmanuel Macron, who gave them a standing ovation on Saturday evening.

Some 2,500 people, including around thirty heads of state and Donald Trump, jointly celebrated the great return of Notre-Dame de Paris at the invitation of Emmanuel Macron and the Archbishop of Paris, Mgr Ulrich, on Saturday evening . Originally, the evening was to take place in two stages. A Republican on the square, featuring the President of the Republic. Another, inside, with the awakening of the great organ, prayers, a magnificat and a God bless you.
This sequencing, discussed at length and bitterly between the diocese of Paris and the Élysée, was shattered the day before the event. For fear of a storm, the Paris prefecture demanded that everything take place inside the building. The large transparent tent which had been set up on the square was therefore left empty. And it was from a lectern, located near the altar, that Emmanuel Macron expressed at length the « gratitude of the French nation », towards all those who worked…
