The first Landes sustainable food forum was held on Wednesday December 4. It brought together both partners and actors in collective catering: elected officials, EHPADs, crèches and municipal canteens with representatives of the agricultural profession, unions or Amap as part of the Departmental Territorial Food Plan. “Baptized The Landes on the menu! this PADT is divided into 4 axes: • Promote quality and local production. • Educate and raise awareness about sustainable, quality food. • Promote access to quality food for all. • Bring together local stakeholders. It makes it possible to treat food in its entirety, provides a response to consumer demand and structures local agricultural sectors. » Round tables and workshops followed one another throughout the day: time for meetings and exchanges focused on the common objective of sustainable food accessible to all and a production tool allowing producers to make a decent living from their profession. The common thread improvement of this collective catering would be to eat better from a pleasure kitchen, eating well based on common sense, reduction of waste, education in taste. In support came the awards ceremony Ecocert in the kitchenthis label awarded to collective catering establishments which promote organic, local and seasonal products in their menus as well as the ecological management of the sites and the communication carried out with guests young and old. Rewarded were the nurseries of Pouillon and Peyrehorade, the Jean-Rostand colleges in Mont-de-Marsan and François-Mitterrand in Soustons, the municipalities of Saint-Cricq-du-Gave, Saint-Lon-les-Mines, Sorde-l Abbey, Ychoux and the commune of Ygos-Saint-Saturnin. All Morcene elected officials wanted to thank the Landes department and Dominique Degos for organizing this day of meeting and sharing which corroborates the work undertaken to improve local collective catering.
