A motorist crashed into a building before being arrested on Saturday morning in Montreal, which forced the evacuation of at least three people.
According to the spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) Jean-Pierre Brabant, the collision occurred around 3:35 a.m. at the corner of rue Saint-Urbain and rue Bernard.

An intoxicated driver traveling south on Saint-Urbain Street may have caused the accident.
“At one point, there was an impact with three parked cars,” said Mr. Brabant. The vehicle ended its journey in a Thai restaurant.”

“At the scene, police extricated a 37-year-old man who was injured, but his injuries were not life-threatening,” he added. He was arrested for drunk driving. He was transported to the hospital.”
Apartments are located above the restaurant. At least three people were evacuated, according to the SPVM.
“The people were taken care of by the Red Cross,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant. There is instability in the building. As a preventive measure, the firefighters decided to evacuate the premises.”
An assessment of the building will be carried out on Saturday. A security perimeter was established to protect the scene.
