After several days of discussions, the Union Saint-Jean club (R1), one of the little Thumbs of the Coupe de France, had confirmation that it would play its 32nd final against Monaco at the Stadium de Toulouse on December 22.
They couldn't dream of better: the players of L'Union/Saint-Jean (USJFC) will have the honor of stepping onto the pitch of the Toulouse Stadium for their 32nd final of the Coupe de France against Monaco, on Sunday December 22 (2:45 p.m.).

As of Monday evening and the announcement of the draw, the Haut-Garonnais club, resident of Regional 1, the smallest level still represented (sixth division) had considered two options for the location of the match, its own stadium not being approved to host it: Ernest-Wallon and the Stadium. Whether at Stade Toulousain or TFC, the idea was very well received. If the balance initially tilted towards the Sept-Deniers enclosure, thanks to quicker discussions with a single interlocutor (the Les Amis du Stade association owns Ernest-Wallon), an agreement was finally reached with the TFC and Toulouse Métropole, owner of the Stadium. “Our sporting metropolis continues to weave a beautiful story with this historic competition and to offer a great showcase of amateur football” welcomes its president Jean-Luc Moudenc.

The TFC, a strong ally in the organization of the match
After Blagnac in 1999 or Muret in 1979 (also against Monaco…), L'Union/Saint-Jean will therefore perpetuate the history of the small Haut-Garonnais clubs at the Stadium in the Coupe de France, and will be able to benefit from the support of the TFC in the organization of this gala match. Member of the TFC Christophe Revault Clubs program – a network of partner clubs which benefit from shared skills, the USJFC has already started meetings with the Toulouse club to discuss the management of security or ticketing.

The sale of online tickets, a first for L'Union/Saint-Jean, will for example be managed in conjunction with the TFC. And the occupancy rate of the Stadium (around 33,000 seats) against Monaco will be a major issue, since the costs of such a match, from stadium rent to the organization of the match, are necessarily astronomical for an amateur club. “It's doable because everyone made an effort” we slip towards L'Union/Saint-Jean, where we could even recoup our costs in the event of sold-out windows. All that's left to do is fill the Stadium!
