The Metropolis of and the city of -sur-Rhône are launching an urban renewal operation.

A vast urban renewal operation will be launched in a QPV in Grigny-sur-Rhône near Lyon.

In a press release released Friday, December 6, the metropolis of Lyon and the City of Grigny-sur-Rhône announced the demolition of the residence at 10 rue Pasteur in the Vallon district and the launch of an urban renewal project including the construction of 175 housing units, the rehabilitation of 32 social housing units and the redevelopment of one hectare of public spaces.

More social diversity

In this Priority District of the City (QPV) which represents 22% of the city's social housing, the built heritage has deteriorated significantly, particularly at the level of the residence at 10 rue Pasteur. “The objective of the Metropolis of Lyon and the City of Grigny-sur-Rhône is to develop a new range of diversified housing, for more social diversity, and to bring a new quality of life to residents in connection with the landscaped and natural environment of the site“, explains the community.

The housing renewal program includes the demolition of 113 housing units by the Métropole de Lyon and the creation of building lots for the construction of a new offer of 140 to 145 free-access housing units. The housing supply will thus be very diversified, including free access and social accession. Alliade habitat is carrying out the rehabilitation of 32 social housing units and the demolition/reconstruction of a building with 30 social housing units.

Public spaces will also be redeveloped with the creation of a north-south service road leading to rue André Sabatier, entry and exit routes from rue Pasteur, pedestrian paths, a landscaped park and the extension of the “green and blue” promenade of the Garon.
