INFO BFM Grand Lille. In a complex financial situation, the northern bookstore brand managed to save its stores in Villeneuve-d'Ascq and Roubaix after negotiations with its lessors. The 27 jobs are also preserved.
The good news was transmitted during a CSE this Friday, December 6 in the morning, then to the teams during the afternoon. The Furet du Nord stores in Villeneuve-d'Ascq and Roubaix will remain open, BFM Grand Lille has learned.
The two brands of the famous northern bookstore have been on borrowed time since September and the announcement of major financial difficulties, partly due to the increase in rents and charges, in a context of weakening of the book market. Negotiations with donors ultimately made it possible to see the future more calmly.
Jobs “saved”
“The 27 jobs in the two stores are saved” rejoices Nathalie Leleu, director of communications and marketing contacted this Friday evening.
“We are counting on our customers… we must continue to support us,” she added.

Management confirmed a return to financial balance. The Nosoli group's job protection plan, however, remains maintained at national level, for the brand's five other stores.
