It's going to be blowing in Yvelines this weekend! During the night of Thursday 5 to Friday 6 December 2024, the wind was already felt in the department and it will be worse this weekend. Squalls up to 80 km/h are expected, as well as a little rain and generally low temperatures…
The department will be on yellow alert from Saturday December 7 at 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the evening. Here are Météo France's forecasts for the coming days.
Disturbances from Friday evening
In addition to a few drops of rain which fall, the wind will rise in the coming night: 55 km/h in Mantes-la-Jolie, Saint-Germain-en-Laye or Rambouillet and up to 60 km/h in Saint-Arnoult-en- Yvelines, Houdan or Élancourt.
The gusts will remain stable until early afternoon on Saturday when they will intensify: between 70 km/h in Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines, Rambouillet and Versailles and 80 km/h in Élancourt and Bonnières-sur-Seine . All with rain in the north of the department and temperatures included between 7 and 9°C.
You will have to wait until Sunday evening so that the wind finally drops below 50 km/h.
In Houilles, a tree has already fallen
Some municipalities have already alerted residents. This is the case of Houilles for example, where a tree fell during the night of Thursday to Friday in the square Le Petit Prince.
“We invite you to be vigilant in your travels, to avoid wooded areas and to shelter your outdoor furniture that risks being blown away by the wind (Christmas decorations, etc.),” she advises in her post.
