Weather France placed in its last bulletin this Friday, December 6, the department of Orne in yellow vigilance pour strong winds et thunderstorms.
Storm Darragh will hit the North West of France during the day bringing heavy accumulations of rain and violent winds, up to 150 km/h gusting on the coasts.
Vigilance from the night of Friday to Saturday
In Orne, wind vigilance will come into force in the middle of the night from Friday to Saturday. The wind will initially blow in a westerly flow before moving over the weekend into a northerly flow, synonymous with a drop in temperatures. It will be able to blow in gusts of up to 90 km/h.
Vigilance for storm risks will come into effect Saturday at 9 a.m. for the entire day.
This choppy weather is expected to continue throughout the weekend, with the start of the week also expected to be windy.
After the snow episode which weakened many trees in November, caution is required, particularly around forest areas due to the risk of falling branches.
