With 7,500 companies, construction is an important economic sector in Vaucluse. It employs around 12,000 people. Despite the decline in activity, construction continues to recruit in the department. To support the sector in its recruitment needs, the various employment-related partners are strengthening their partnerships.
The Prefecture, through the DDETS (Departmental Directorate of Employment, Labor and Solidarity), Urssaf, the BTP 84 Federation and Capeb 84 signed an agreement on November 25, in the presence of Thierry Suquet, the prefect of Vaucluse, Philippe Herzog, the president of Capeb 84 and Stéphanie Ougier, the director of Urssaf. Objective: develop targeted training actions, promote the construction sector to attract talent and rely on Geiq BTP 84 to facilitate professional integration. A collective commitment well received by Daniel Léonard, the president of the BTP Federation of Vaucluse, who also signed this agreement.
Fight against employment fraud in construction in Vaucluse
First of all, this agreement updates an agreement signed in 2015 on the fight against employment fraud and social dumping, by providing for a component to combat unfair competition from fraudulent offers, aimed at responding to employment problems. in illegal forms, cascade subcontracting, respect for working conditions and remuneration, the hunt for illegal work, safety on construction sites, etc.
Improving the prevention of workplace accidents in construction
Then, the agreement reinforces the work of the Pole Prévention BTP Vaucluse. This is a pilot initiative, born in 2018, to improve the prevention and safety of working conditions. It brings together DDETS 84, FBTP 84, OPPBTP (Professional organization for the prevention of building and public works), Carsat Sud-Est, CFA Mouret, ECIR, Capeb 84 and occupational health services from Vaucluse.
These organizations work together throughout the year to develop new solutions to improve prevention and the safety of working conditions. Their work then results in information actions for companies and employees as well as legal advice.
-Promote recruitment in construction in Vaucluse
Finally, the new agreement adds a recruitment component. Although the sector is experiencing a significant contraction in activity, its companies must face a significant generational renewal. All partners are strengthening their actions, in particular thanks to the Force Emploi sectoral club initiated in 2019. Led by the State, it allows all employment stakeholders in the department to build concerted actions. Remember that, in Vaucluse, France Travail has carried out training worth €5.7 million.
The role of the Geiq BTP 84
Another lever for action will be to use the expertise of Geiq BTP 84, like the Form Innov BTP 84 action launched in 2023. It aims to promote the integration and training of populations far from the employment and people undergoing professional retraining, through actions of job discoveries in a working situation in different companies.
This convention will also aim to strengthen links and awareness-raising operations with middle schools, high schools and guidance counselors for this sector where the social elevator works.
