On Wednesday, December 4, NFP and RN deputies jointly adopted a motion of censure against Michel Barnier and his government.

The government of Michel Barnier was overthrown this Wednesday evening in the National Assembly. The motion of censure tabled by the New Popular Front was voted for by a majority of the deputies. The President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet announced that 331 deputies voted for the motion tabled by the left in response to the Prime Minister's 49.3 to pass the draft Social Security budget without a vote.“This censorship is very bad news for . The budget which was rejected with the advances it included. More police officers, more gendarmes, more health personnel. As minister, I had additional means for National Education”, declared Anne Genetet, Minister of National Education.

“All of this has stopped abruptly and the French will not be able to envisage making progress in their daily lives again for several months. It is this delay which is very annoying,” she added.
