According to the information on the site Pianetalecce.itthe Breton club is in discussions with Lecce for the transfer of the Croatian international during this summer transfer market. Marin Pongracic has been playing for the Italian team for two seasons and is also part of the Croatian national team that played in the 2024 European Cup.

After stints at Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund, the 26-year-old defender has chosen to continue his adventure at Lecce in Serie A. His profile seems to greatly appeal to the Rennes management, who are looking to strengthen themselves in several areas of play before the start of the next season.

Several changes in Rennes

The Breton club wants to compose the departures of several elements. In order to replace Enzo Le Fée who left for AS Roma, Stade Rennais has decided to bet on the Danish midfielder from Bodo Glimt, Albert Gronbaek. In midfield, the club is considering several leads; Glen Kamara (Leeds) and Ruben Vargas (Augsburg). SRFC has also recorded other departures in addition to Enzo Le Fée; Jeanuël Belocian, Fabian Rieder, Matthis Abline, and Alfred Gomis. For his part, Arthur Theate is getting closer to several in addition to one departure. It will therefore be necessary to pull out all the stops to attract new recruits.

Marin Pongracic could come to strengthen the Rennes defense this summer. In this case, the Breton team will have to pay around 7 million euros according to Transfermarkt’s estimates. It remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 team intends to invest such an amount for a single reinforcement knowing that other arrivals are expected in the coming weeks.
