Protesters roam the city. This Thursday, December 5, 2024, as part of the civil servants' strike movement, a demonstration took place in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), starting from the Charles-de-Gaulle esplanade. There were between 2,500 and 3,000 according to the police. On the union side, 5,000 people are expected to attend.
At the end of the demonstration, the Imoja real estate development agency, located on Place Bretagne, was targeted by a handful of radical demonstrators.
They tried to break the agency's windows. A sporadic episode: calm has returned.
Disruptions on the bus network
Private sector employees joined the civil servants. Axians employees are therefore present.
-A month ago, the group announced an Employment Protection Plan (PSE) concerning 161 employees in Kersaint-Plabennec and Quimper (Finistère), Ploeren (Morbihan) and Pacé. The latter site accounts for more than half of the positions.
Due to a call for a strike in the civil service for this Thursday, December 5, the operation of canteen and daycare services is disrupted in Rennes, in the city's 89 public nursery and elementary schools. In public colleges, the day also promises to be disrupted.
The demonstration planned for late Thursday morning will disrupt certain bus lines.
The C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, 11, 12, 53, 54, 55, 56 and 67 will be diverted in the city center of Rennes. The city center shuttle will not run.
