From January 6, 2025, two new round trips by coach are offered to cross-border commuters between the Forbach bus station and the Howald Multimodal Exchange Center in Luxembourg.
This is a new commitment to cross-border mobility on the part of the Grand Est Region: the establishment, from January 2025, of two new round trips with line 600 between the Forbach bus station and the Grand Duchy.
A new bus connection, designed to facilitate travel for cross-border workers between their homes and workplaces, with:
- early departures from Forbach at 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
- returns from the stop at Howald at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
An experimental period will first be initiated, allowing timetables to then be modified based on user comments.
A comfortable and ecological coach trip
To make these trips, the region provides a “premium coach”: equipped with WiFi, with USB sockets, air conditioning, ergonomic seats and running on biofuel. Enough to reduce the carbon footprint of cross-border travel, which generates twice as much CO2 (2.4) as non-border travel according to the latest INSEE study.
-An advantageous subscription for regular journeys
For this coach trip between Forbach and Luxembourg, the Grand Est Region offers a monthly subscription for €238, or only €5.95 per journey for daily use. A cost potentially further reduced with employer support. Without a subscription, the unit cost is €21 and €10.50 with the Fluo reduction card.
Please note that a promotion will be applied for the first two months of the experience on this line 600 with a ticket at €5 per single journey.
