The Doubs department takes stock one year after the return to 90 km/h on some of its roads

A year after the return to 90 kilometers per hour or instead of 80 on certain roads in , the time has come to take stock, and it is generally positive according to a report from the departmental council

The Doubs departmental council has made public its report on the return a year ago of the speed limit to 90km/h on certain roads instead of 80. Nearly a quarter of the road network is affected and the results are rather positive, because even if there have been a few more accidents, there have been fewer deaths in the sectors concernedand the number of injured is also down slightly. Furthermore, studies show that if the authorized speed increases by 10 km/h, this is not the case for the observed speed: 86 -87 km/h on a road limited to 90 km/h, instead of 83 km/h on a road limited to 80. Conclusion, not only drivers respect the authorized limitbut in addition they increase their speed by 2-3 km/h instead of 10. The Departmental Council has therefore decided not to change anything, no modifications planned on the roads, it sets an appointment in two years for a new balance sheet.
