It was an original idea that the first class of AEPA terminals from the Sainte-Marie-du-Port high school in Sables-d'Olonne.

They organized for isolated seniorsa five-day trip to to discover its famous Christmas market, December 9 to 13.

“Rediscover youth”

THE premises of the project begin in December 2023 with a Christmas animation for isolated seniors.

Many of them participated in the snack, magic takes.

“I was already at Christmas last year,” explains Monique Bineau, 80 ans. For Sablaise it’s not so much the destination that matters. She surrendered four times in Strasbourg, but rather the shared adventure with high school students.

“I want to rediscover youth, my choice is above all to be with young people,” says Monique who lives isolated from her family.

For Aline Bonneau, also Sablaise, the thirteen hours journey to reach their destination are far from calming the octogenarian.

As for the program, it includes visits to the Obernai Christmas market, that of Strasbourg, a cruise in riverboatthe visit to the European Parliament and the gingerbread museum, she is interested in “everything!” », she proclaims, impatient to set foot once again the cobblestones from the capital of Christmas.

€4,243 raised

The cost of the project was estimated at 13 000 € to move 36 people for five days.

To do lower coststhe high school students therefore took on different actions such as selling brioche in supermarkets, garage sales and canvassing businesses.

24 took part in the project and in total the money raised amounted to 4 243 €. In this organization well put togetherremains to order snow so that the magic of Christmas is complete.
