This is a great new catch for customs officers of Oise. During a joint cooperation, on November 21 and 26, the customs of Nogent-sur-Oise and the gendarmerie de Senlis carried out an operation against delinquency, road insecurity, fraud and drug trafficking.
Inspections of heavy and utility vehicles
Coordinated checks of heavy goods vehicles and utility vehicles were thus carried out in the sectors of Lagny-le-Sec, Nanteuil-le-Haudouin et Vauciennesin the south-east of the department.
Vehicles specifically targeted by customs officers and gendarmes, since their “significant traffic generates risks of accidents, violations of the highway code and transport of illicit goods »explains the Oise gendarmerie on social networks.
During these checks, several traffic violations were noted by the military.
90 kg of illicit tobacco
But the major find was made by customs officials. By searching the cargo of a utility vehicle transporting goods, they for their part made a seizure of 90 kg of illicit tobacco.
“An exemplary collaboration in the service of everyone’s safety,” rejoiced the Oise gendarmerie.
Last September, Oise customs officers discovered 46 kilos of contraband tobacco while searching a heavy goods vehicle on the A1, in Chamant.
