Passionate about history, and particularly that of Blainville-sur-Orne, Georges Ben Ahmed devoted a large part of his life to delving into the archives of the commune, publishing two works on the village. “President of the Blainville and its history association, he was at the origin of numerous initiatives, including several exhibitions, workshops at the media library and counted walks.”

In order to honour his memory, it was the mayor who proposed to the assembly to give the historian’s name to the esplanade located in front of the media library. “The inauguration will take place during the next heritage days, notably on Saturday, September 21, 2024”.
