The three protagonists had spent their day drinking. At the start of the evening, an argument broke out and escalated. Two of them were injured with air guns.

Shots rang out this weekend in the peaceful town of Machecoul-Saint-Meme. Sunday, around 8 p.m., these gunshots disturbed the neighborhood, even though vehicle fires had recently occurred in the same area. Finally, according to the gendarmes, no link was established between these two events. The news item is a banal argument for a trivial reason which, due to the presence of alcohol, turned bad.

Judged Tuesday

“In the context of a particularly alcoholic day shared by three individuals residing in Machecoul, an argument broke out between two acquaintances”explains in a press release the departmental gendarmerie company of Pornic, which carried out the investigation. One of them, aged 42, then returned home to grab an air gun. Back, here he is shooting through the apartment door, slightly injuring his 22-year-old friend. “Successfully entering the accommodation, the suspect then aims at the head of the third protagonist, aged 28, injuring his head more seriously”detail the soldiers. The victim was hospitalized briefly but his life is not in danger.

The forty-year-old was taken into police custody the same evening of the event, after surrendering to the military. He admitted the facts and was tried before the judicial court on Tuesday, during a preliminary admission of guilt procedure. He was sentenced to nine months in prison and banned from carrying a weapon for two years.
