Craftsmen from the Heriau companyspecialized in historical monuments and heritage, are carrying out urgent work on the roof of the church.

The alert given last May

In spring 2024, the mayor Henri Flageul sounded the alert on the situation of the Saint-Vincent-Ferrier church.

“It is the general condition of the roof that is of concern. There are leaks and therefore water ingress,” indicated the councilor, during the municipal council meeting on Wednesday May 15, 2024.

In the process, the municipal services contacted several companies to carry out “urgent work” on the upper parts of the religious monument. Only the Heriau company, based in Cornillé (Ille-et-Vilaine), responded to the city's requests.

A quote of €13,300

After a visit to the site, on June 12, 2024, the company proposed a quote amounting to nearly €13,300 including tax, for maintenance of the entire roof of the church.

Faced with the urgency of the work, on October 16, 2024, the members of the municipal council unanimously adopted the company's estimate.

“The company should intervene in November,” the mayor announced the same day.

From Tuesday November 26, 2024craftsmen take care of the church. Using ladders, the workers first carried out the cleaning of all the gutters and downspouts of the religious monument.

This first phase of work did not disrupt parking and traffic around the monument.

An imposing pod has appeared, Monday December 2, 2024.

During this new phase of the project, the roofers will work on revising the slate roofs and flashings, checking and replacing zinc elements without forgetting the installation of a gutter on the roof. bell tower.

Traffic disrupted

Throughout the week, the parking in the town hall parking lot and around the church is restricted by barriers.

The circulation around the church is also regulated by a municipal decree.

This work on the upper parts of the Saint-Vincent-Ferrier church must be completed, barring unforeseen circumstances, at the end of the first week of December 2024.
