The MHSC account since this Monday July 8, 2024 a new player, the keeper française Justine Lerond. This young and talented sportswoman, originally from Metzarrives at the end of a season with the Girondins of Bordeaux.

A goalkeeper with an impressive career

Justine Lerond’s story with the MHSC begins in an almost ironic way. Indeed, it is facing Montpellier that she disputed her premier match in D1 Arkema, on September 11, 2016, at just 16 years old, while playing for FC Metz. Since that day, Justine has come a long way, notably winning a D2 French champion title with FC Metz in 2018, and that of U19 European champion with the French team in 2019, where she played alongside Montpellier players Lisa Martinez and Maëlle Lakrar.

After a full season in Bordeaux, including 19 D1 Arkema matches played out of a possible 22, Justine has joined the contingent of goalkeepers in the MHSC women’s section, alongside another great hope for French women’s football in this position, Marie Petiteau.

MHSC President Laurent Nicollin spoke enthusiastically about this new recruit: “I am happy and delighted that Justine is joining us. With Marie Petiteau, we have two quality goalkeepers.”

A new start

Justine Lerond, posing proudly with her new Montpellier jersey, shared her excitement: “It’s a pleasure for me to continue the adventure in D1 and to sign for an emblematic club of French women’s football. MHSC invests a lot of energy in the girls and competes at the top of the table every season. For my part, I have often played to stay up at Bordeaux or Metz and the fact of arriving at a club that is aiming for the top of the rankings is a great satisfaction for me. I hope to help the team as much as possible.”
