Since Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the authorities have been carrying out a massive recall of two “Rissoan” brand cheeses sold throughout France between November 13 and December 3, 2024. These products are likely to be contaminated with listeria.
Two lots targeted
This recall concerns in particular the “Tomme de Lozère with sheep's milk 2 kg” belonging to lot 301030 and presenting the GTIN code 3269010009268. This cheese was sold by the piece and by the cut in the traditional section of numerous wholesalers and retailers, specifies Consumption reminder .
Also covered is the “Tommette de Lozère with sheep's milk 300 g” sold individually in the self-service section of these stores. The latter belongs to lot 301031 and bears the GTIN code: 3269010009268, indicates the government website in another recall sheet. The minimum durability date listed on the packaging of these two cheeses is January 17, 2025.
A potentially serious illness
People who have purchased these products are invited not to consume them and to return them to the store for a refund. As a reminder, listeria is a bacteria responsible for listeriosis, a potentially serious disease capable of causing “fever, isolated or accompanied by headache, and body aches”. The government website specifies that the elderly, immunocompromised people and pregnant women “should pay particular attention to these symptoms”.
Customers who have eaten these cheeses and who experience such symptoms should consult a doctor as soon as possible. As a reminder, the incubation time for listeriosis “can last up to eight weeks”. Those affected can obtain more information by contacting 04 66 46 60 09. This recall will end Friday December 20, 2024.
