This weekend marked the 10th day for the Pool A and the 9th day for the Pool B in the Departmental 1 Men’s Intersport championship. Between confirmations, surprises and fierce struggles, here is the summary of the performances of our Gironde clubs.
Pool A: FC Graves in great form!
The FC Graves 2 continues to reign supreme in Pool A. The leaders once again shone, winning with authority 3-0 facing the FCG St Emilionnais 2. Undefeated this season, they consolidate their first place with 19 points and widen the gap at the top of the ranking.
Behind, the SJ Macaudais maintains the pressure by beating theUS Coutras on a narrow score of 1-0. Thanks to this victory, the Macaudais remain second with 17 pointsready to pounce in the event of a misstep by the leader.
In a spectacular match, theAthletic 89 FC and the Libourne Football 2024 were neutralized on a 2-2 panting. This sharing of points allows them to remain in the fight for the podium, with respectively 15 points each.
The Haillan Foot 33for its part, confirmed its status as a solid team by crushing theES Fronsadais 3-0 outside. This success gives them a tie on points with Libourne and Athletic 89, relaunching the battle at the top of the table.
On the other hand, at the bottom of the ranking, the ordeal continues for the FCC Médoc Atlantique 2. Despite their efforts, they once again foundered, suffering a heavy defeat 1-4 facing theES Audenge 2who breathes a little better with this precious success.
Pool B: The leaders defeated!
The Pool B offers us a breathtaking suspense with two leaders caught up. THE CS Lantonnais defeated 3-2 by theEN Blanquefortaise 2. A defeat which could have consequences from the next day of the championship. For his part, the Stade Pessais UC he too does not have earned a point with a defeat 4-1 against theAGJA Caudéran. The Pessacais still retain the lead in Pool B, co-leaders with the Lantonais, with 17 points.
Behind, the FC St Médard en Jalles 2 continues its rise in power. Thanks to a convincing victory 3-2 facing theAS Gensac Montcaretthey come back to one point behind the leaders, with 16 points.
The bottom of the table remains complicated forAS Gensac Montcaretwho has not yet found the solution this season and remains the red lantern with 4 small dots.
The score of the weekend: Bordeaux Students Club who takes 5 at home, facing theAG Vendays-Montalivet. This result allows the winners to overtake their opponents on the day.
Rankings and outlook
In Pool Athe FC Graves 2 seems untouchable in the lead, but only remains 4 points from 5th place. At the bottom, the FCC Médoc Atlantique 2 will have to react quickly to hope to save their season.
In Pool Bthe rivalry between the CS Lantonnais and the Pessais Stade UC hosts the championship, while the FC St Médard en Jalles 2 et US Bouscataise 3 establish themselves as serious contenders for the title. On the other hand, the battle for maintenance promises to be tough for theAS Gensac Montcaret.
The championship is still long, and each day promises its share of surprises and twists.
