Marineland closes permanently in Antibes

Facing numerous difficulties in recent years, the Marineland amusement park is closing its doors. Marineland announces to its CSE its plan for permanent closure as of January 5, 2025.

In a press release addressed to the press, management explains that: “It is with great emotion and deep sadness that Marineland is forced to consider permanently closing the marine zoo as of January 5, 2025. While 90% of visitors choose to come to Marineland to admire the representations of orcas and dolphins, the law of November 30, 2021, prohibiting cetacean shows, requires Marineland to consider this closure.”

In 10 years, attendance at Marineland has increased from 1.2 million to 425,000 visitors per year.

The serious economic difficulties impose this closure project according to Marineland, which is therefore forced to consider separating itself from the animals before the implementation of the law.

Neighboring parks, Aquasplash and Adventure , will not be affected by the proposed closure of Marineland.
