Strike at Paris airports: what impact on travelers?

A few weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in France, several unions at Paris airports, particularly Orly and Roissy, have filed a new strike notice for July 17, to demand a bonus for all staff and a massive hiring plan.

A hard blow for the French capital, which expects to welcome no less than 350,000 travelers per day in total at Paris airports during the summer season. During the Olympic Games, these volumes increased further.

Call for strike at Paris airports on July 17

Three weeks before the Olympic Games, the unions representing employees at Orly and Roissy airports are threatening to strike 10 days before the highly anticipated sporting event if the ADP group does not respond to their complaints denouncing the deterioration in working conditions.

Furthermore, these unions denounce the unilateral decision of the CEO “to pay bonuses only to some of his staff”. Employees of the two Parisian airports also report the suspension of participation in management meetings and call for a strike to obtain satisfaction. As a reminder, on the occasion of the highly anticipated sporting event, the ADP group has taken decisions to better accommodate athletes, and their luggage, in better conditions

This new strike notice risks tarnishing the image of France, which is preparing to host a historic sporting event.

Which airlines serve Algeria from Paris airports?

As of the time of writing, no airline has communicated about possible disruptions to air schedules. However, several carriers are at risk of seeing their flights cancelled or delayed.

If this strike notice is maintained, airlines serving Algeria may cancel their flights scheduled for July 17, 2024. Remember, in addition to Air Algérie, ASL Airlines and Air France operate flights from Paris CDG to Algiers and Oran. Tassili Airlines also operates flights to and from Roissy airport.

In addition, Transavia has several flights in its schedule from Paris Orly airport to Constantine, Tlemcen, Bejaia, Oran and Algiers. Air Algérie also provides services to the national territory from Orly.
