For his only date in France, Travis Scott brought together 40,000 people in Nice on Saturday night. But according to several reports, some were victims of snatch thefts or stings. Eleven complaints were filed and an investigation was opened.

A concert that some will remember not only for the show. On Saturday evening, July 6, American rapper Travis Scott performed in front of 40,000 people at the Allianz Riviera as part of his world tour. Circus Maximus.

But despite a high-energy atmosphere for its only date in France, some spectators experienced setbacks before and during the concert.

According to information from BFM Nice Côte d’Azur, 11 complaints of snatch theft within the stadium have been filed. According to other testimonies, some also say they have been victims of bites.

Some were “gassed” with tear gas

Several people have been victims of jewelry theft. This is the case of Luka, 20, who is one of the victims who filed a complaint in Nice. That day, the young man came from Paris to attend the concert with his friends. Very quickly and while he was enjoying himself in the pit, a person standing behind Luka snatched his gold chains. Jewelry of great sentimental value because they belonged to his grandmother.

At the end of the concert, the latter decided to go see the police forces present to secure the event. On their advice, he went to the police station, filed a complaint, and realized that he was not the only one in the same situation. Some were even “gassed” with a tear gas canister, in the middle of the pit, despite careful searches at the entrance to the stadium.

“It could have been very serious if it had created a crowd movement,” the young man’s mother told BFM Nice Côte d’Azur.

Two 17-year-old minors arrested

Following these reports around the stadium, two people were arrested shortly after 11 p.m. for group thefts. Both are minors, aged 17, and were taken into custody. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the judicial police.

In addition to these complaints and thefts, the public also complained about a “catastrophic” organization.

At 8 p.m., the gates of the Allianz Riviera were still not open and spectators were gathered around the stadium.
