Anomaly of + 0.8°C
He thus noted an anomaly of + 0.8°C compared to 1991-2020 normalsin continuity with previous years: we have to go back to 2010 to find an autumn with temperatures significantly cooler than normal.
+ 15% rain compared to average
Another lesson: “the autumn was very rainy in France, exceeding the seasonal norm by 15%,” specifies Météo-France. In detail, September and October were excessively wet (+60% and +40% respectively), while November was in deficit (-45%).
The first two months of autumn were thus marked by several episodes of heavy rain.
These were particularly intense in the center-east from October 15 to 18, with six departments (Ardèche, Rhône, Haute-Loire, Loire, Lozère and Alpes-Maritimes) placed on red alert. “Never seen before in living memory” then underlined the Minister of Ecological Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher.
Sunshine deficit
Between October 24 and 27, another episode of intense rain hit the south of France, particularly the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes.
Several towns in Seine-et-Marne and Eure-et-Loir were also flooded after the passage of depression Kirk on October 9.
On the side of sunshine, Météo-France notes a deficit throughout the fall (-15% compared to the 1991-2020 normal). It was close to normal in the month of November alone but with France cut in two, marked by gray weather in the North and the presence of sunshine in the South.
